Mastering Your Mailboxes

All accounts now offer the opportunity to set up extra mailboxes. When you start your account one mailbox is set up automatically, this mailbox is your default mailbox. Your default mailbox will receive any mail going to your account. To use your default account you can let people email you at any of the following addresses and they will all come to your default mailbox. For example:

charlie@moonphase.plus.com }
webmaster@moonphase.plus.com }--------> to your default mail account
anything@moonphase.plus.com }

I.E. You can use anything (letters and numbers) before the @ symbol as long as you have your username straight after the @ symbol, and it will go to your default mailbox. For most basic accounts and people who only use their Plus.Net account for basic email, the default email mailbox will be enough for you.

However you may want to use extra mailboxes if:
  • You want the various members of the family to have different email addresses and passwords
  • You want to split up mail coming into your mailbox up into different mailboxes
  • You want to receive email going to your website, seperately to that you receive from your friends. For example:
  •
    tom@moonphase.plus.com }------> tom mailbox
    sales@moonphase.plus.com }------> sales mailbox
    mrjohnson@moonphase.plus.com }------> mrjohnson mailbox

    If you are unsure about which route to take, We would advise you to start off with a single mailbox and if you feel you want extra mailboxes, you can set them up at any time from the Plus.Net Portal website (www.plus.net), in the 'My Services' section (and then in 'Email').
