| File Upload Help?

| If you are reading this then it is likely that you are not sure how to upload your files to the ftp.plus.net server (this is the FTP server NOT the FrontPage server). This is primarily here to help people get Domain2Frontpage forwarding set up, but it is a general guide should help others as well!

| Step 1: Firstly you need to download a piece of FTP software. CuteFTP is highly recommended for this purpose and it can be downloaded from http://www.cuteftp.com. Simply go to the site (a new window with pop-up) and follow the download links. Remember where you save it!

| Step 2: Next you need to find the downloaded file on your computer and install it by double clicking on it. Follow the instructions it prompts you with and it should install fairly simply!

| Step 3: OK, now you need to dial in and connect to Plus.Net (if not already connected) as you normally do via Internet Explorer (or via Dial-Up Networking in My Computer). Once you are connected fully and can view web sites, move on to the next stage

| Step 4: Open up CuteFTP from your Programs menu now. If it does not appear automatically select the Site Manager option from the first menu at the top. Click on the 'New' option to create a new record and enter the following details:

| Host Address:
| ftp.plus.net
|
| Username/UserID:
| your Plus.Net username
|
| Password:
| your Plus.Net password
|
| Step 5: Once you have entered the details, click on 'Connect' and then it will log you into the server. A grey message box will probably pop-up informing you that you are now 'logged in'.

| Step 6: Next you should see a window made up of 3 'panes'. In left hand pane is the contents of your hard drive, in the right hand pane is the webspace directory on the server. The bottom pane (can also be at the top sometimes!) shows you what is being done (ie logging in, or moving files, etc).

| Step 7: In the right hand pane you should seee a folder marked 'htdocs'. Double click on this folder to open it, all files you want to be visible on the web MUST be put in this folder.

| Step 8: In the left hand pane find the location of the files (index.htm and dummy.htm) on your hard drive.
|
| Step 9: Now to upload the files simply select the files you want and drag them from the left hand pane (your hard disk) over to the right hand pane (your webspace). The files will then be copied, this may take a minute or two in total.

| Step 10: Once the files have been copied over, open up your browser and type in your website address (either www.yourusername.plus.com or www.yourdomain.co.uk . Your files should now show with no problems. For those of you using the Domain2Frontpage forwarding you should now see your FP web site at your domain address!
